Tis the season for confessions again folks. This year, churches are set to be open all hours (a midnight madness, so-the-speak) to herd-in the sinners, free them of their sins and set them on their way for another round.

Did the big guy himself conduct such ceremonies/rituals or was it a later addition to…?

What was the purpose behind it? How has it changed over the years?

Isn’t it great to have a “get out of jail free card” or to know that regardless of the sinful act you can always wipe the slate clean simply by confessing?
