Your thoughts

Posted By Prophecy in Brainstorming/sharing, Uncategorized

We often have random thoughts on different subjects. Sometimes these thoughts jump-out at us unexpectedly and at an untimely moment, like as we are driving to work or somewhat preoccupied with the other unrelated thoughts.

We tell ourselves to make a mental note ,to be revisited at a later date, only to never find it again.

Well this post is about such thoughts. I would like to know everything that is going on in your heads, at this instance. The subject matters, their relevance to one another, the plausibility or in-completion of the thoughts- it makes no difference, in fact it may make them more interesting.

Bring forth the scattered, random, seemingly uninteresting, far-fetched and even fictional thoughts that you have been storing in the attic of your minds.

Soldier’s oath

Posted By Prophecy in Deadly sins, Devil's corner, Ethics and Morals, Peace, The end is nigh

Throughout the history of civilisation, there have been many a demonstration and uprising against the governments in power.

The latest of one such uprising is the one currently taking place in Thailand. This recent uprising is just as typical as the rest of them. The military is ordered to flood the streets, using mild force that is increasingly intensified in the following days as the demonstrators show more unruliness and as the government loses patience and worries about the outcome.

So here is what perplexes me. The citizens have had enough of these governments, and their mismanagement of their country and their resources. Not to mention the corruption.

Are the military personnel in a position that is better-off than the rest of the citizens? If they are, they certainly don’t look like it, judging by the footage we see on the different news networks.

So why are they protecting these governments? If nothing else, don’t the realize that at the end of their shifts and the day, they will have to go home to where their fellow countrymen reside? What protection do they have when facing their neighbours with no weapons?

Are these folks’ oaths to the ruling government worth that much? To confound the issue, these military personnel all seem to be from religious families and in some cases orthodox, yet they appear to be perfectly willing to harm/kill fellow countrymen with very little hesitation.
