Guilty

Posted By Prophecy in Death, Destiny, Devil's corner, Ethics and Morals, Pain

For years, I have been unsuccessfully attempting to encourage people around me to share their fortune with the less fortunate. In fact my last attempt was only two days before the latest earthquake hit Haiti.

I would now like to thank the nearly 200,000 who gave their lives, their families, the survivors and the media, all of whom without there would never have been such an out-pouring of donations.

Perhaps the “creator” made the biggest donation with it’s decision to end those 200,000 miserable lives. The quake has also given the rest of us pause; forcing us to reflect on our busy lives here, albeit temporarily.

I also realize that nearly all of the money donated was guilt-money, however, in light of my very little success getting folks to give over the years, I will take it.

I also know that we will not see donations of this magnitude until the next disaster strikes. Here’s hoping it isn’t this year for many will not loosen-up their purse-strings twice in the same year.

Haiti, hell yes

Posted By Prophecy in Deadly sins, Destiny, Devil's corner, Pain

I have written about this, (arguably) the poorest country on Earth, before but the focus of this post is the apparent lack of mercy or the intensity of the punishment in addition to the frequency of the attacks on the Haitians, if you believe in God.

So, if you believe in God and heaven and hell, wouldn’t you think that Haiti would be hell?

Just take a look at Haiti’s history of painful events, not to mention the extreme poverty. Sure, to some extent the injustices suffered by Haitians can be compared to that experienced by the African countries,  where much of the people’s pain and suffering can be attributed to their own governments, but how do you explain the rest of it?

So, if you believe in God, do you also believe that Haitians are being punished perhaps for something they did in their previous lives? How do you justify the amount of pain a person should have to endure?

Say you don’t believe in God or don’t know what to believe in. Seeing as you don’t believe Haiti as hell, are you then ready to ease their pain and suffering or are you quite comfortable with the way things are going at the moment?
